DUTCH MARKED LOPS

I'm pleased to announce the beginning of my new breeding project of the lovely Vienna Dutch Marked Dwarf Lops.

I have five lops at the moment, two bucks and three does. These rabbits will always produce babies that have blue eyes and some occasionally have hazel eyes but will carry the vienna gene. These later ones usually don't have as much colour on them.

These particular rabbits will have the colour features of the Dutch rabbit, being four white feet, white saddle over the back and sides, white front and the classic upside down V on the face. Dutch rabbits have stickup ears, where as we are going for the lop ears with the Dwarf Lop body type.

It is very important that this rabbit project is kept very separate from the rest of the stud as the Vienna gene can muck up your breeding progam if you don't want it in there.

I have recently mated two of them at the start of March. Can't wait for new arrivals.

It will be quite a long process to get the best dutch marked lop, then also to make sure that they have the right type. I am very happy with my five, they are of quite good type, so we are of to a great start before any matings take place.

At this stage as far as I know, there is only as few as three reputable breeders undertaking this new project in Perth, so we are all hoping to interact with each other to acheive the best results possible.
