Diary entry: For Sale at The Show

Just letting you know that I will be taking five baby rabbits to the two day show this weekend, 27th & 28th August, Cyril Jackson Hall, Bassendean. REW & Blue Otters, both sexes, they are approx 8-10 weeks old, some are rung, they are of average type, suit pet or breed. Come down to have a look and also see all the other rabbits on show. Why not make a day of it for the family. Lots of nice people to give you lots of advise. (I'm not breeding the REW at the moment and don't plan to for some time, that is why they are available).

Diary entry: 20/8/11 Show News

Looking forward to this coming weekend, a two day show. I havn't got alot of rabbits to take, so the pressure won't be too bad. Gives you more time to enjoy the whole day. I think I'll be taking my two new juniors, black otter and agouti. The juniors I have bred, the others are not bred by me.

I must catch up on taking more photos for website with the rabbits that have won certificates, just been too busy with other life duties not involving rabbits.

Diary entry: 18/7/11 Rabbitry News

I have purchased a few new rabbits in the last month, when I get some spare time to take some nice photos and put them on the site. Very excited with my new additions, but alas some rabbits will be moving on to make way for the new rabbits as I refine the breeding program. Some of them will be on the FOR SALE page. Check them out if something to suit you.

I'm delighted to announce a new arrival at our stud, a Buck. His name is Safari 30 Seconds To Mars, but we will just call him Mars for short. He is a Black Otter and quite a handsome boy. I have to thank Wayne at Safari for entrusting him to me, I can't wait till he produces some babies. I've already taken him to his first show and he didn't disappoint. I look forward to showing him in the future aswell.

Check him out on the Bucks Page (Down the bottom)

Diary entry: 24/6/11   In The Nest News

Tinseltown Brandy birthed eight babies today, sadly four have passed, I think she is a bit overwelmed and careless with her new babies as I think some were trodden on and some were not placed in the nest with her fur. The remaining, I'm not sure will survive as they are quite small, so see how she goes. She is a first time Mum.

Update on Willows babies, the remaining litter are now thriving and I'm quite surprised at the tiny one, as it looked like it didn't really feed till day seven, so quite remarkable, a little fighter.

Update on Bunnies Run Violet, the mating was unsuccesful, so I have remated them this week. I know Violet can have babies as she had a litter before she came to Tinseltown, so just got to get the chemistry right between them both.

Diary entry: 13/6/11   In The Nest News

I'm please to annouce our first litter of Harlequins, Bunnylious Willow birthed a litter of eight. Sadly we have lost two and may lose another. Willow has made a fantastic nest with the most fur I've ever seen a rabbit pluck for a nest. The babies a nice and toasty warm, but there does appear to be a couple of peanuts and they are struggling. We don't have another foster mum to help her out. I wish her the best raising her first litter.

There is a new Buck addition to the stud, Coco is his name, he's our first outside Agouti to make it here. He's 18mths old and quite a treat. I'm looking forward to many of his babies to start our Agouti colour line. Check him out on the BUCK Page (down the bottom).

My two girls that have been showing this year (Tinseltown Brandy & Ashrose Graphite) have now been retired for their breeding duties. They have been mated this week. Check out the MATINGS page to see who their love date has been & when to expect their litters. I'm hoping we might get something suitable to show for the Royal Show in Oct. That is if there is to be a show? not sure yet.

Diary entry: 24/5/11    Show News

Over the mayhem of the five star, two day show. What a great weekend we all had. Saturday was the most busiest and we all tried to be on the best behaviour (people, I mean). The two judges were great. Very down to earth and we all hope we left them with a good impression of our city and the quality of our rabbits over here. From some of the comments I heard them make, I think they will go back to the UK to say that our standard is quite up there with some of the best, and not just the lops but overall across most breeds.

Sunday was a little more relaxed affair, especially having the kids pet show and dress up. Quite amusing and even Simon, the judge got in on the act with his wizard hat. I managed to sneek a few moments of the judges time when all was finished to chat about lops and some useful info they gave me, so very informative to assess the direction of my breeding. I'm very grateful for their time.

I'm very excited to announce the arrival of our first Blue Otters. It's been a while coming. The Sire is Safari Wayno & Dam is Skittles Opal. A nice number of four, this is Opals second litter but her first at Tinseltown and her first Blue Otters. Can't wait to see how they mature. Hoping to get a lovely buck and doe from this litter. Check them out on the IN THE NEST PAGE.

Diary entry: 18/4/11   Show News

Well, another enjoyable day was had at the show on Sunday. They said there were about 30 less rabbit entries than last time,  so that made coming home better for me as it was still abit light. But on my feet all day stewarding again. It's the only way to learn as you get to hear the judges comments. It's also interesting having the two shows on the one day as then two different opinions aswell. Sometimes the judges will choose completely opposite rabbits, as that has happen to mine so far. By the end of the year, it will be good to see which rabbits will be the consitant winners.

Had a busy day in the rabbitry today. Saturdays is usually my hutch cleaning day and it takes all day (with a lunch break). Groomed Astro, Apollo, Autumn, Graphite, Violet, Panda, Choco, Napoleon, Thumper. The rest will be done through the week. It's always a relaxing time grooming the bunnies and I thoroughly enjoy it. Still waiting results of last Sat show, Keep checking my Show Results Page.
